1. THEY HELP WITH BREATHING - Plants during photosynthesis release oxygen into the air while absorbing carbon dioxide, while WE breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide. So it is a win, win situation
2. THEY HELP TO KEEP YOU FREE FROM ILLNESS – Plants go through transpiration which helps put moisture into the air and increase humidity. Doing this helps to decrease dry skin, colds, sore throats, and dry coughs.
3. THEY CLEAN THE AIR – NASA has found through research that plant leaves and their roots help remove toxins from the air in buildings and low levels of chemicals such as carbon monoxide and formaldehyde. Some plants best for removing indoor toxins are English Ivy, Bamboo Palm, Azalea, and the Spider Plant.
4. THE HELP WITH HEALING – Taking care of plants while sick or recovering can be extremely therapeutic and way to relieve the stresses of being sick. Studies have been show that plants help lower blood pressure, pain, anxiety, and fatigue as compared to those that do not have them in their room when they are sick.
5. THEY MAKE YOUR ROOM LOOK NICE – Plants can come in many other colors than just green and can add some nice aesthetic to your room, while also boosting your health!
